Examining the Soil of Your Heart

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Friday 11.30am-6.30pm (UK time)

Matthew 13 (VOICE)

That same day, Jesus left the house and went to sit by the sea. 2 Large crowds gathered around Him, and He got into a boat on the sea and sat there. The crowd stood on the shore waiting for His teaching.

This next sermon series, the third of Jesus’ five Mosaic-like sermons, is filled with parables or stories with a deeper meaning about the kingdom of heaven.

3 And so Jesus began to teach. On this day, He spoke in parables. Here is His first parable:

Jesus: Once there was a sower who scattered seeds. 4 One day he walked in a field scattering seeds as he went. Some seeds fell beside a road, and a flock of birds came and ate all those seeds. 5 So the sower scattered seeds in a field, one with shallow soil and strewn with rocks. But the seeds grew quickly amid all the rocks, 6 without rooting themselves in the shallow soil. Their roots got tangled up in all the stones. The sun scorched these seeds, and they died. 7 And so the sower scattered seeds near a path, this one covered with thorny vines. The seeds fared no better there—the thorns choked them, and they died. 8 And so finally the sower scattered his seeds in a patch of good earth. At home in the good earth, the seeds grew and grew. Eventually the seeds bore fruit, and the fruit grew ripe and was harvested. The harvest was immense—30, 60, 100 times what was sown.
9 He who has ears to hear let him hear.

QUESTION AND ANSWER TIME

Disciples: 10 Why do You speak to the people in parables?
Jesus: 11 The knowledge of the secrets of heaven has been given to you, but it has not been given to them. 12 Those who have something will be given more—and they will have abundance. Those who have nothing will lose what they have—they will be destitute. 13 I teach in parables so the people may look but not see, listen but not hear or understand. 14 They are fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy:

You will listen, but you will not understand;
you will look, but you will not see.
15 The people’s hearts have turned to flab;
their ears are clogged;
their eyes are shut.
They will try to see, but they will not see;
they will try to hear, but they will not hear;
they will try to understand, but they will not comprehend.

If they, with their blindness and deafness, so choose, then I will heal them.

WAYSIDE
This is like the seeds sown beside the road, people who hear the word of God and receive it joyfully—but then, somehow, the word fails to take root in their hearts.

What is the condition of your heart? Please examine it now in order to receive help from Him (JESUS).

ROCKY SOIL
It is temporary. As soon as there is trouble for these people, they trip.

22 And you know people who hear the word, but it is choked inside them because they constantly worry and prefer the wealth and pleasures of the world: they prefer drunken dinner parties to prayer, power to piety, and riches to righteousness. Those people are like the seeds sown among thorns.

Have you tended your heart's soil as you should? Or have you allowed something else to compete with the seed?

GOOD SOIL
23 The people who hear the word and receive it and grow in it—those are like the seeds sown on good soil. They produce a bumper crop, 30 or 60 or 100 times what was sown.

Jesus is still sowing His Word (seed) in ALL hearts thereby giving ALL the opportunity. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God - John 3:18 NKJV.

Those outside the group are not meant to understand the complete Word of God. Thus, one must already be committed to following Jesus to fully understand His message. Without that commitment, one will never fully understand Him or be helped.

I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me for they are Yours John 17:9 NKJV.

PRAYER
Let us pray for God to deliver our hearts from growing dull.
Let us pray for open eyes to see.

Lord, please take away heavy and difficult hearing from us.
Open my understanding and bring about a change of heart, life and relocation from darkness to light.
We present people on the Calvary ABC1 platform to You for healing and relocation in Jesus' name.
Deliver me from superficial faith of a stony heart that glorifies God in good times but withers under trials.
Help me to examine my heart and fully surrender it to Christ for healing and for taking on His own heart in Jesus' name.

Pray that God will give you a heart of flesh that is tender to receive the Word, instructions and rebuke from God.

Pray for God to root out all the thorns sharing the nutrients meant for God’s Words in our life.

O God, please come as Gardener and root out every form of thorns that are in competition with your words in my life.

Blessed, Broken, Given...

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Friday 11.30am-6.30pm (UK time)

Luke 9: 10-17, John 21: 15-17
  • God’s promise to father Abraham, ‘I will bless you and you shall be a blessing’ is our portion since we came into the full gospel. You cannot be a blessing to others unless you have been blessed.
  • Let us take stock of our blessedness in CHRIST JESUS and give thanks to our heavenly Father ‘who has blessed us with every spiritual blessings in HIM.’
  • We are blessed so that we can be a blessing to others.
  • As Kingdom Labourers, we are like the five small loaves and two small fishes (few and feeble as we are) and the Lord is content to use us to feed the multitudes out there! A thing that is most impossible except they (we) are in HIS hands.
  • The first stage in this breaking process is our unconditional surrender to the Lord for discipleship – they brought the five loaves and two fish to Him and He took them. How did you come to discipleship?
  • After we are blessed we must be broken, if we will be sufficient to feed the multitude – Luke 9:16, John 12: 24-25. It is in dying that we produce much grain! Hallelujah!!
  • After breaking, He distributes us to “set before the multitude” – vs 16.
  • The five small, insignificant loaves fed thousands, after they had passed through the hand of the LORD through divine concentration and incubation; like a refiner’s fire and launderer’s soap – Malachi 3:2-4.
  • Our relevance is not in what we are or have, but in what we can become when we allow Him to “make” us.

The instrument and process of Him making us is discipleship.

We are His Workmanship

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Friday 11.30am-6.30pm (UK time)

Ephesians 2:10
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” NKJV

“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” AMP

There is a work that God has done, which must be activated in each of our lives in order for us to be able to enter into the Kingdom Labour that He prepared for us long ago.

Workmanship means ‘handiwork’ – a work that God Himself did.
We are God’s masterpiece – Eph. 2:10 NLT.
A masterpiece is an outstanding piece of work; a workmanship that is exceptional.

As Kingdom Labourers:
1.  God wants us to know that the work He did on the cross is exceptional, and He wants our lives to reflect the masterpiece He created, that is, the NEW MAN – Eph. 4:22-23.
2.  God wants us to know that in order to have knowledge of His will concerning those good works He has prepared for us, we must present our bodies a living sacrifice (demonstrate that we died), be not conformed to the world, be transformed – Rom. 12:1-2.
3.  God wants us to walk worthy in the paths to which He has called us – Eph. 4:1.
4.  God wants us to know that He Himself has given us apostles, prophet, evangelists, pastors and teachers to help us grow into the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ – Eph. 4:11-13.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
ü  Lord, thank You for cross – a work that made me into Your masterpiece.
ü  Help me to know that I cannot be a Kingdom Labourer if I do not allow the cross to have effect in me.
ü  Reveal the cross to me afresh.
ü  Grant me spiritual understanding of the full Gospel.
ü  Let my life reflect Your outstanding workmanship – bring me into the reality of ‘old things passed away and all things have become new’ – 2 Cor. 5:17.
ü  De-clutter me from every dead work that distorts Your masterpiece.
ü  You will see the fruit of Your workmanship in my life and be satisfied – Isaiah 53:11.

For good works, which God prepared beforehand…
ü  Open my ears and cause me to hear Your voice calling me to the paths leading to the good works You have prepared for me. Please silence every voice calling me to another path.
ü  Prevail over my heart and make me faithful to your instruction.
ü  Expose anything hidden in me that does not align to Your purpose for my life.
ü  Confirm my death with you on the cross and let Your life have full expression in me – Rom. 12:1-2.
ü  Strengthen me in Your grace to stand apart from the expectations of the world.
ü  Instead, grant that I will conform to the image of Christ.
ü  Renew my mind and cause me to that learn from Your personal dealings in my life, what Your will for me is.

That we should walk in them.
ü  Help me to yield totally to You so that I can walk worthy of my calling.
ü  Help me to pay attention to all the help You have provided for me to come to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
ü  Help me to walk as I have learned of Christ and allow the new man to be the kingdom labourer – Eph.4:20, Col. 3:12-17.

Help me to walk as I have learned of Christ and allow the new man to be the Kingdom Labourer.

A Kingdom Labourer's Heart

Listen to this HeartCry Message

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Friday 11.30am-6.30pm (UK time)

The Lord is simple but human beings have a way of complicating Him. Some are too smart and intelligent for God. God tries various means of breaking us but often times, we slip away.
Thank God, for He has not come unto us in parables, but in accents clear and still.

If there is anything a Kingdom Labour should be entitled to, it is the secrets and mysteries of the kingdom they belong to -  Matt 13: 10 -11. Kingdom Labourers are not better than other Christians who have not come to the knowledge of the way of the cross and complete gospel;  but God by His mercy, hand-picks them that His truth might be revealed to them.

…Knowledge of the truth is not enough - a Kingdom Labourer must seek revelation.

Matthew 13: 12 -
The parable of the sower was meant for disciples, not unbelievers, to enable them learn and apply their hearts unto what have they had received from the Lord.  The Lord did this by showing them the various ways whereby the enemy comes in to devour!

Looking closely into this passage, we will discover that the Lord was focusing on the HEART of man. The different kinds of ground represented different kinds of hearts.

God knows that it is the heart that has been worked upon and prepared that can receive and put into use what He gives to it.

The state of our heart matters so much to God because it determines how far He can really work with us. This is because He wants to deposit a lot of treasures into our lives - truth from His Word that will bring about our daily sanctification and complete transformations - if we allow it to have free course in our lives.

John 10:10 – “The thief cometh not, but only to steal, kill and destroy.”
In essence, our lives will not be attractive to the devil if there is no treasure in it.

The Bible makes us understand that even the very elect themselves will be deceived. If the Word of God is casual to us, we will become casualties and part of the deceived!

What kind of heart do you have?

Matt 13: 4-8

Abiding in Christ as a Kingdom Labourer

Listen to this HeartCry message

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Friday 11.30am-6.30pm (UK time)

John 15:1-10 (KJV)
John 14:15
John 15:14

Ø   “Abide” in Christ:  To remain inside, to be able to stand, to be able to live with, to continue...  You cannot abide with someone you cannot stand.
Ø    In John 15:1-10  the word “abide” appears nine times and bearing fruit five times. This shows  the emphasis our Lord Jesus placed on the two words.
Ø    To bear fruit, we must abide in Christ.
Ø    For our foundation to be rid of what does not look like Christ, we must abide in Christ.
Ø    For us not to love the world or the things inside it, we must abide in Christ.
Ø    To bear more fruit, Christ will prune us.
Ø    The Lord will only concentrate on those abiding in Christ.
Ø    The Lord in His mercy is granting us divine concentration and He has warned us this will not be forever. This concentration can involve hardship, lack and suffering

PRAYER POINTS
Ø Thank God for concentrating on us and exposing us to the truth.
Ø Ask God to continue to concentrate on us.
Ø Thank God for taking us out of the crowd to concentrate on us

Ø Lord, sit on me as a refiner and purifier of silver. Purge me as gold and silver that I may offer to you an offering in righteousness. Malachi 3:3

Ø Lord, let me be an obedient kingdom labourer who will obey your commandments  always..

Ø Lord, let me make the most of every opportunity you are bringing my way.
Ø Help me to remain in you and let me follow through my discipleship process.

Ø Do not let me be a truant.
Ø Let me endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ, not entangling myself with the affairs of this world. 2 Timothy 2:3-4

Ø Restate the full gospel in my life so that I can be a workman who  rightly divides Your word 2 Timothy 2:15

Kingdom Labourers in the Marketplace

Acts 10:38
Psalm 24:1
Colossians 3:17
Colossians 3:22-25/Ephesians 6:5-8

Ø We must desire God to anoint us with the Holy Spirit for our work. Acts 10:38.
Ø Every workplace belongs to the Almighty God, our Father. Psalms 24:1.
Ø We are to obey our employers, not offering eye service as men-pleasers.
Ø Do all in sincerity of heart, fearing God.
Ø Do all as to God and not to men.
Ø Reward of inheritance is from God because we serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ø Those who do wrong will be repaid for what they have done; there is no partiality with God.

PRAYER POINTS
As kingdom labourers located “Inside Christ”, we carry Christ to our workplaces.

Ø Father, knowing You are with me, anoint me with the Holy Spirit and power to go about this labour of doing good, healing all who are oppressed by the devil.  Let the light of Jesus shine through me in my workplace.

Ø Let it only be You, O Lord, I resolve to know in all I think or speak or do.

Ø Help me to cheerfully fulfil the task Your wisdom has assigned for me.

Ø Let me find Your presence in all my work and prove Thy good and perfect will.

Ø Preserve me from my calling’s snare. Hide my simple heart above, above the thorns of choking care, the baits of worldly  love.

Ø May I set you at my right hand and let my inmost substance see your eyes, help me to  labour on at Thy command and offer all my works to Thee.

Ø Give me to bear Thy easy Yoke, watching and praying every moment, looking at eternal things.

Ø Lord, help me to run my course with even joy and closely walk with Thee to Heaven.

ACTION
Ø Psalm 68:11 – “The Lord gave the Word; Great was the company of those who proclaimed it.”

To fulfil this instruction, we can trust God to use us in setting up Christian Workplace Groups in our places of work in the United Kingdom.

The smooth stones (organisations such as Transform Work UK and Christians At Work) and “the sling” (our prayers)  are God’s provision for us as He did for David in slaying Goliath.

Transform Work UK
Inspiring Christians to  transform their workplace and the nation.
TWUK encourages Christians to grow Christian Workplace Groups which seek to bring real benefits to their organisation and its staff.

Christians At Work
A national organisation helping to mobilise Christians to live out their faith both in the world of work and the world at large

May the Lord continue to breathe upon these organisations as they carry out this great mission in our workplaces.

Luke And Demas

Listen to this HeartCry message

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Friday 11.30am-6.30pm (UK time)

COME DRINK NEW WINE! Matthew 7:24-27

Common Features
They both hear "these sayings of mine"
- They went up to the mount as disciples
- They were not aversed to Jesus' words, unlike the Pharisees, leaders, etc
- Went to discipleship meetings, webinars, Heartcry platforms, etc
- They were both Disciples, like Peter and Judas. Luke and Demas.

They both build their house
- Building the house of their lives as God's temple
- Building the house of their labour on other lives as God's temples.
- Both laid foundation for their house
- They were both Kingdom Labourers, like Peter and Judas. Luke and Demas.

They both experienced natural effects: Rain, Floods, Winds
- RAIN: Provision, planting & harvesting, plenty
- FLOODS: Challenges, lack, want, waste,
- WINDS: Faith challenges, persecution, battles

Contrast Features
One does "these sayings of mine". The other does them not- Romans 2:13, James 1:22
One builds on the rock- solid foundation, full Gospel. The other built on sand- shifty.
One's house stood firm. The other's house collapsed great.

Luke and Demas
- Both disciples of Paul- Colossians 4:13-15.
- Both laboured with Paul as kingdom labourers- Philemon 1:24
- Both experienced natural effects: Provision, Lack, Persecution
- Luke heard and did.
Proof- Luke's Gospel, the Acts of the Apostles- Luke 1:1-4, 2Timothy 4:11
- Demas heard and did not.
Proof- Forsook Paul, loved this world, departed to Thessalonica- 2Tim 4:10

ü  Make me both a hearer and a doer of Your Word.
ü  Give me courage to follow You to the mountain to hear You.
ü  Give me courage to take action on what I hear. Make me a doer, not just a hearer.
ü  Help me build on the solid foundation of the full Gospel of CHRIST.
ü  Help me focus on obeying You rather than on the "rain", "floods" and "winds". They are just natural effects that come to distract and defocus me.
ü  Make me a Luke, not a Demas. A peter, not a Judas.

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;" John 8:31- LORD please make me Your disciple indeed
